Torrie Boling

Torrie Boling was born in Houma, Louisiana just off I-90 outside New Orleans, and was raised in Meridian, Mississippi. A graduate of Mississippi State with a degree in Applied Technology and a minor in Marketing, Torrie worked in banking, sales and marketing before beginning her insurance career in 2016, as a Customer Service Representative in the personal lines department for an independent insurance agency. Since then, she has focused her career on the commercial line sector here at Charter, specializing in Energy Sources. But she still celebrates her bayou roots and can share some expert Louisianan tips on netting buckets full of blue crabs and backwater fishing. Just ask.

Torrie’s Hand Crabbing Tips:

  • Tie uncooked chicken to a 5ft string give or take
  • Throw it into the bayou
  • Wait for a tug on the line
  • Slowly pull in that string until you see the blue crabs clinging to the bait
  • Scoop up those crabs with your net as fast as possible
